Dr KC Ang graduated from the University of Melbourne Medical School in 1990. He obtained his surgical fellowship from Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1995 and after completing his Advanced Orthopaedic Training became the first of his cohort to obtain the FRCS Ed (Orth) in 2000. He has done clinical fellowships in Knee and Sports Medicine in the UK as well as Shoulder and Elbow surgery in Melbourne, Australia.
Dr Ang remains a Visiting Consultant to the National University Hospital and returns to perform complex Knee, Shoulder and Sports surgery. In this capacity, he deals specifically with sports problems in children and adolescents as well as women. Dr Ang also runs a Sports Medicine clinic catering to students of the National University of Singapore.
Dr Ang is actively involved with sporting events of all types. He is the Team Physician to the Wanderers Rugby Club and Bedok Kings Rugby Club as well as the Bucks Rugby Club. He is also actively involved in providing medical cover to the players of the Singapore Ultimate (Frisbee) Association.
More recently Dr Ang has also featured on several Reality Television programs have been responsible for the medical care of the participants in the Contender Asia Muay Thai series as well as Season 4 of the Contender (Boxing) series by Mark Burnett Productions.
As part of his interest in Mixed Martial Arts, he is also the official Team Physician to the Amateur Muay Thai Association of Singapore.
Dr Ang's interests are in sports injuries, especially of the knee and shoulder.
